Sweet Emotions

I’m full of emotions today:  sad because it’s the last day of the regular NFL season; happy because my Patriots won; nervous because they still need help to get in the playoffs; and disgusted because I’m cheering for the Jets so we can clinch the division.

Even though we’re nearing the end of Sunday afternoons spent eating wings and nachos and watching my Direct TV Sunday Ticket, we’re entering a month of the most exciting playoffs of any of the major sports.  Even if the Pats are not part of the playoffs I’ll be glued to the TV on Sundays through Feb 1.

The simple reason the NFL has it right when it comes to playoffs is it is win or go home!  You’ve got to step up your game every single week and make it happen, whether you’re playing in a dome, a warm climate, or in the freezing cold.  The weather has helped New England in the past, when teams line the Colts couldn’t play in the cold (Dome Babies!).  While the other sports have their own allure in the post season, the NFL delivers excitement that no one else can.

So come what may for the Pats, I’ll enjoy the playoffs.  But can I get some help Jets?!  Please!
